If you wish to view the city via a boat trip, then tours are available from the Portal de la Pau. The 90 minute tour
takes you up through the city's Olympic Port to view the city's waterside sights such as the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya and the new Forum building. The tours are quite cheap at five euros and leave every hour. However be warned, depending on the season, you may not be able to get a Golondrina boat tour as services shut from mid December to early January.
Never fear however for there is always the bus, which is an easy way to see the city. The Barcelona 'Bus Turistic' Tour is very popular as it includes all the city's sights. A day ticket costs nine euros and this covers travel all around the region, including the fares for the Tramv Blau and the Montjuc cable car. If you want to go more further afield, there are always tour options to take visitors to Montserrat and Costa Brava.
Walking around the city is also a fantastic way to see the sights and sounds of Barcelona and walking tours are available from local tourist offices. The tours take people through the sights and sounds of the city's Gothic Quarter, allowing visitors to try the local cuisine and, if you're willing to pay a little extra, take some cooking lessons from the local chefs!

As a frequent visitor to Barcelona, I have a soft-spot for the Buses. However, I really must try the boat and the cable car next time !
