Barcelona for Free

A lot of people are still travelling to Barcelona and further afield but many people are being more money conscious with the economic situation as it has been recently. Below a look at some ideas for saving money when visiting Barcelona. What can you do for free?

Free entertainment in Barcelona - If you spend time slowly walking down Las Ramblas (the main tourist street near to the marina) you will see a number of very good street entertainers. Human statues, ball jugglers and Barcelona for freecomedy a few things you can expect to see and for free (unless you like something so much you want to give a tip).

Barceloneta and other beaches - It does not costs a penny to lie on one of the many excellent beaches on the Barcelona coast. There are miles of beaches and plenty of space and the weather in spring or summer is most often ideal for sun-bathing.

Travel Guides and ideas - There are a number of free guides and a printable pop up Barcelona map available online. Also, although not free, buying one of the main travel books such as the Lonely Planet guide can save you far more money than the book costs, given the tips you will find in the book.

Menu of the Day (Menu Del Dia) - Not free but a wonderful way to save significant costs on food is to always go for the 'Menu of the Day' when eating out in Barcelona. This can literally half the cost and the food is often very good.

Barcelona is certainly not cheap in my experience.
At least the broadwalk and beach are free and one can use for a whole day.
